Windows 10/11 Obscura

If you use Firefox on Windows and are wondering why your device wants to rocket into the atmosphere when playing videos, its because Mozilla in their infinite wisdom decided to use system codecs rather than bundling them like Chrome (even free stuff like AV1 and VP9)

Only the first 3 are needed for Firefox, the rest are not used but linked for posterity. If you use LTSC or Server, winget can install it via the productID at the end of the URL. Obtaining winget on a system without the MS Store is an exercise for the reader but it is possible.
